Softly

For this piece I wanted to capture soft natural window lighting, while exploring a more stylized and expressive lighting setup. The lighting on the cello and chair is very unrealistic but I wanted to make it blend naturally into the more realistically lit background. There are a number of accent lights used to create exaggerated bounce lighting, specular highlights, and soft shadows on the cello. The backdrop is primarily lit by Skylight GI and the dominant Directional sun light.
This work is heavily inspired by the works of Carl Vilhelm Holsoe.
