The Kiln

This is a lighting study rendered in Unreal Engine 4. The intent of this piece is to display my experience with lighting and composition.
I wanted to capture warm cool contrast lighting, and create a visually striking composition.
This image was also created to show my experience with using baked lighting, and lightmaps, to achieve seamless results. In addition I wanted to show my knowledge of post effect, planar and probe reflections, as well as fog and atmospheric effects.
This piece was created from start to finish in about 10 hours. With a couple hours of touch up work.
I created all of the assets seen here except for the skybox.
The skybox used is a HDRI "Trucker Wreck" authored by Greg Zaal
The original concept for this piece was "Untitled" by Alexandr Shabanov

Lighting only, no Post, Fog, Particles, or Materials. Getting smooth and realistic results from the lighting was a goal on this piece.

Here the lightmap seams are highlighted in red. I wanted seams in the focal point of the image to emphasize the quality of the lighting bake.
